It’s not everyday that you get to help people around you. Not everyone has the heart and passion to reach out to those who are in need. I admire those people who do and pray for the hearts of those who don’t that someday their hearts will be touched and be able to share their blessings.
Whenever I visit Coffee Bean I get to see Real Life Foundation and became quite nosy about it but I never bothered to ask their baristas. Until I became part of Victory Christian Fellowship (VFC) and learned that they are in partnership with Real Life Foundation in supporting the underprivileged Filipinos.
Last August 20, after several months of planning to take part in Real Life feeding program, finally, I was able to join them. The venue is located beside VCF-Pasig and held every Saturdays. The program strives to provide nutritious food to undernourished children.

The kids outside the Hall.. waiting for the program to start. They seemed to love pictures.

Getting their shoe size.
As they enter the hall, the kids would immediately run to the washroom to clean their hands as part of their routine but we have to stop them this time because we have to get their shoe size. Just so you know, Toms partnered with RLF and is willing to give these kids free shoes every six months. And I was like “whoaaaa’ when I heard that. God is so good! :)

Now it’s time for hand washing :)

Playing with the kids. These kids loved to be cuddled. As soon as their done with handwashing they ran toward us and asked us to carry them on our back. (piggy back ride) It was a bit hard to let them stay on one place but still controllable though.

“The Alvin and the Chipmunks Game” I actually don’t know what exactly you call this game. haha. But all they have to do to win is to put the shirt properly on the picture.

Another game for them, “Hephep Hooray” on a different way. When the leader says hephep, they’d jump forward, and backwards when hooray. It was fun watching them. :)

Story Telling “Ang Alamat ng Ampalaya” I saw how these kids enjoyed the story and they were all so giddy to answer the questions. Very participative. :)
Praying before the meal

Finally, the most awaited part. Time to fill their tummy. :) Since, their goal is to improve the children’s weight through consumption of nutritious food. RL prepared a burger steak without the kids knowledge that it has vegetables in it like carrots, garlic etc.
The kids enjoyed the food so much. They lined-up to get some more. By the way, being independent is one of the important things that they are teaching to these kids. Whenever they want to get more food they have to get it on their own. And after the meal, they’ll be the one to return it to the giving area. (see the pic above)
After feeding, the kids can now leave the place and go home with a happy tummy and a happy heart. :)
Meet Richard, one of the Real Life Scholar. He is in 2nd year college studying BS Math. I was moved by his testimony. He never taught that he’ll be able to afford college until real life came to him and offered him scholarship. This is how good works in the lives of people who have faith in Him.
After the testimony, we got to taste the burger steak as well. haha!

Btw, I was amazed by this girl’s love for her little sister. She was carrying her sister all through out the activity. When they were playing I volunteered to carry her sister so she could play better but she declined. She’s such a loving sister. ♥ (take a look at the previous photos)
I can describe this experience I had in one word, “AWESOME”. I went home with high spirit knowing that we weren’t just able to fed the tummy of the kids but most importantly their soul. :)
